About the Notification
The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) invites applications for 22 posts of Class-I (Junior Grade) Home Guards under the Home and Political Department, Assam Home Guards Services. Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam holding a graduate degree from a recognized university. The selection includes written exam, physical and medical tests, and interview. Online application process starts on 8th May 2026 and ends on 7th June 2026.

Age Limit
Minimum age is 21 years and maximum age is 38 years as on 1st January 2026.
Age relaxation:
- 5 years for SC/ST candidates, up to 43 years
- 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates, up to 41 years
- For ex-servicemen, maximum age is 50 years for unreserved category, with further relaxation of 3 years for OBC/MOBC and 5 years for SC/ST
Educational Qualification
Graduate degree in any discipline from a government-recognized university is required.

Pay Scale
Pay Band: ₹22,000 to ₹97,000 (Pay Band-3)

Selection Process
- Written Examination: Two papers covering General Ability, Intelligence, General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension.
- Physical Standards and Physical Efficiency Tests
- Medical Standards Tests
- Interview / Personality Test
- Final merit is based on written examination and interview scores.
