Indian Army TGC-145 Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 30 Lieutenant Officer Posts

The Indian Army is recruiting for 30 Officer posts (Lieutenant) under the Technical Graduate Course (TGC) - 145, starting July 2027 at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun. This recruitment is for granting permanent commission to eligible unmarried male engineering graduates.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

• Candidate must be a citizen of India, OR
• Subject of Nepal, OR
• Person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with eligibility certificate issued by Govt. of India.

Age Limit

• Between 20 and 27 years as of 1 July 2027 (Born between 1 July 2000 and 30 June 2007)

Educational Qualification

• BE/B.Tech or M.Sc (Computer Science) in listed Engineering Streams and their AICTE-approved equivalents.
• Candidates appearing in final year of Engineering may apply, but must submit proof of passing by 1 July 2027 and produce degree certificate within 12 weeks of training commencement.
• Candidates with foreign engineering degrees are not eligible.

Physical Standards

• 2.4 km run in 10 minutes 30 seconds
• 40 push-ups, 6 pull-ups, 30 sit-ups
• Squats and lunges: Two sets of 30 and 10 repetitions respectively
• Fundamental knowledge of swimming is mandatory

Selection Procedure

• Shortlisting based on merit and vacancy to call-up ratio.
• SSB Interview conducted in four centres: Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (KA), Jalandhar (PB).
• Two-stage SSB interview followed by medical examination.
• Final merit list will be based on SSB performance and medical fitness.
• Selected candidates will receive a joining letter for Pre-Commission Training at IMA, Dehradun.

Application Process

• Apply online only through www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
• Register if not already registered, then complete the online application form, filling all personal, educational and communication details carefully.
• Submit the application before the deadline and print two copies of the final submitted form.
• Carry original and self-attested copies of all required documents to SSB interview. Original documents for name and age proof must be matriculation/secondary school certificate.

Important: No corrections will be allowed after submission. Variations in engineering stream or name details between documents and application will lead to cancellation.

Training and Service Terms

• Training duration: Approximately 12 months at Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
• Candidates join as Lieutenant on probation with Short Service Commission initially. Permanent commission granted after successful training completion.
• During training, candidates receive a fixed stipend starting at ₹56,100/month.
• Salary after commission starts at ₹56,100 with various allowances and field area benefits as per Army rules.
• Marriage during training is not permitted.

• Only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
• Applications from candidates debarred or dismissed from any Defence Training Academy are not accepted.
• Any concealment of facts or providing false information leads to disqualification.
