About the Notification
The Vehicle Research and Development Establishment (VRDE) under the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in Mechanical Engineering through a walk-in interview process. The fellowship is intended for young and meritorious Indian nationals interested in research in defense-related fields. The fellowship tenure is initially two years, extendable based on performance.

Age Limit
Maximum age is 28 years at the time of interview with relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a BE/B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering or allied disciplines in First Division with a valid GATE score from 2024, 2025 or 2026, OR ME/M.Tech degree in First Division at both graduate and postgraduate levels.

Fellowship stipend of Rs.37,000/- per month along with House Rent Allowance (HRA) as applicable.
