Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Chief Clerk (Eligible) Departmental Promotion Examination 2026

About the Notification

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a departmental promotional examination for the post of Chief Clerk (Eligible) in the Seventh Pay Commission revised pay scale M-23 (₹41,800-1,32,300). The examination will be conducted online in a multiple choice objective format. Only internal employees fulfilling prescribed eligibility criteria and currently working in the specified cadre are eligible to apply. The exam will enable Executive Assistants and similar category employees to be promoted to Chief Clerk post. The examination is tentatively scheduled for December 2026.

Age Limit

There is no upper age limit for this departmental promotion examination.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have completed minimum five years of service as Executive Assistant or equivalent cadre. They should have passed secondary school exam with Marathi subject carrying 100 marks or must have passed the Marathi language department examination as prescribed by BMC administration. Computer certificates like DOEACC (CCC or A/B/C level), MS-CIT or GECT from Maharashtra State Board are mandatory.

3. Choose "Click here for New Registration" and enter necessary details.
4. Register with name, contact number and email id.
5. Upload required documents - photograph, signature, left thumb impression.
6. Submit application and keep printout for records.
