Age Limit

Minimum age is 18 years and maximum is 24 years as of August 31, 2026. Age relaxation applicable as: SC/ST - 5 years, OBC-NCL - 3 years, PwBD - 10 years (15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC-NCL).

Educational Qualifications

• Trade Apprentice (Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist): Matriculation plus full-time 2-year ITI course in relevant trade recognized by NCVT/SCVT with pass marks.
• Technician Apprentice (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics): 3-year full-time Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline with minimum 50% marks for General, EWS, OBC-NCL and 45% for reserved categories from AICTE/UGC recognized institute.
• Graduate Apprentice: Full-time graduation in any discipline with minimum 50% marks for General, EWS, OBC-NCL and 45% for reserved categories from a recognized university.
• Trade Apprentice - Data Entry Operator (Fresher): Class 12th passed (below graduation).
• Trade Apprentice - Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders): Class 12th and recognized skill certificate in Domestic Data Entry Operator from recognized authority.
• Qualifications must be from regular full-time courses; part-time/correspondence/distance mode not eligible.

Pay Scale

Stipend will be as per Apprentices Act, 1961 and related rules. IOCL Northern Region shall also provide an additional monthly allowance of ₹2,500. For Graduate and Technician Apprentices, stipend partly disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer by BOAT.

Selection Process

1. Candidates must register and apply through NAPS/NATS portals.
2. No written test or interview; selection based on merit list prepared by percentage marks in prescribed qualification.
3. Tiebreakers: older candidate prioritized, then higher matric marks.
4. Preference to first-time apprenticeship candidates.
5. Shortlisted candidates to undergo document verification and pre-engagement medical fitness test.
