About the Notification

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Marketing Division), Northern Region, one of the largest commercial undertakings in India and a Fortune Global 500 company, has published a notification inviting applications for engagement of Trade, Technician, and Graduate Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The initiative aims for skill development and strengthening of the human resource within this central public sector enterprise.

The recruitment encompasses various states and union territories in Northern India including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. Detailed reservation and vacancy breakup is provided per state covering categories like UR, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, and PWD.

Vacancy Details

The vacancy details include various apprentice categories with total seats and reservation breakup across the Northern Region. Main disciplines include Technician Apprentices in Mechanical Engineering, Trade Apprentices in various ITI trades, Graduate Apprentices, and Data Entry Operators.

Age Limit

Candidates must be aged between 18 and 24 years as of 31st August 2026. Relaxation as per government norms: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC-NCL – 3 years, PWD candidates up to 10 years relaxation accordingly.

Educational Qualification

• Trade Apprentices: Must have passed full-time 2-year ITI (NCVT/SCVT) certificate in relevant trades.
• Technician Apprentices: Full-time 3-year diploma from AICTE/UGC recognized institute in relevant engineering disciplines.
• Graduate Apprentices: Full-time graduation in any discipline from recognized university.
• Data Entry Operator (Trade Apprentice): Passed 12th standard with skill certificate for domestic data entry operator.
• Part-time, correspondence or distance mode qualifications are not eligible.

Application Fees

There is no specific fee mentioned; generally, fees are exempted for reserved categories.

Pay Scale

Stipend is paid as per Apprentices Act and Board of Apprenticeship Training rules. In addition, Indian Oil pays a fixed amount of ₹2,500/- per month towards miscellaneous expenses. Graduate and Technician Apprentices receive stipend partly from BOAT via DBT. Trade Apprentices receive stipend fully from Indian Oil.

Selection Process

1. Applications through NATS (Graduate/Technician) and NAPS (Trade/Data Entry) portals only.
2. No written test or interview; selection purely based on merit list (percentage marks in prescribed qualification).
3. Merit tied candidates resolved by age and matriculation marks.
4. Document verification and pre-engagement medical fitness test required after merit shortlist.
