About the Notification

The North Central Railway Recruitment Cell has issued a notification for recruitment against the Cultural Quota for the year 2026-27. This recruitment is for the posts of Sitar and Tabla players under Pay Matrix Level-2 (Grade Pay Rs. 1900/-). There are a total of two vacancies available. Eligible candidates must have the requisite educational and cultural qualifications to apply online between August 20, 2026 and September 19, 2026.

Age Limit

Applicants must be between 18 to 30 years of age as on January 1, 2027. Age relaxation is applicable as per category norms: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwBD, and appropriate relaxations for Ex-Servicemen.

Educational Qualification

Essential qualification is Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent passed with 50% marks or Matriculation plus ITI recognized by NCVT/SCVT. Additionally, candidates must have a government-recognized diploma or certificate in the relevant cultural stream (Sitar or Tabla).

Pay Scale

Pay Matrix Level-2 with Grade Pay of Rs. 1900/-. Initial remuneration includes minimum pay plus allowances. Stipend will be provided during training.

Selection Process

  1. Written Test: 50 objective questions to be completed in 60 minutes with negative marking. Question paper bilingual in Hindi and English, covering general awareness, mathematics, reasoning, and cultural knowledge.
  2. Assessment of Talent: Practical demonstration (35 marks) and evaluation of testimonials/prizes (15 marks) in the relevant cultural field.

  3. Register as a new user and fill the application form with personal, educational, and cultural qualification details.
  4. Pay the application fee online using the available payment gateways.
  5. Upload required documents including photograph, signature, DOB proof, and cultural qualification certificate.
  6. Submit the application and save your registration number for future reference.

  • Proof of Date of Birth (Matriculation/Equivalent certificate or Birth Certificate)
  • Educational and Cultural qualification certificates
  • SC/ST/OBC community certificate as applicable
  • Certificates for Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Minorities, EBC if applicable

  • Signed Annexure-G form for awards and performance details
