The Department of General Medicine, Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh, invites applications for the purely temporary/contractual post of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-medical) under the ICMR funded multicentre research project titled "Reversing Type 2 Diabetes (RT2D)". There is one vacancy with a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 67,200. The initial appointment duration is three months, extendable based on project requirements and performance.

Age Limit

Maximum age: 35 years with age relaxations as per ICMR rules for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), PWD, women candidates, and individuals with research experience.

Educational Qualifications

Essential: First class Post Graduate degree including integrated PG degree (Life sciences or any biology stream) OR Second class Post Graduate degree including integrated PG degree with PhD (Life sciences or any biology stream).
Desirable: Prior experience in biochemical/molecular biology, sample handling and hospital/clinical research; proficiency in MS Word/Excel.

Pay Scale

Consolidated emoluments: Rs. 67,200 per month (Rs. 56,000 salary + Rs. 11,200 HRA).
