About the Notification
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct an open competitive examination in 2026 to recruit Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Age Limit
Age limit generally 20 to 25 years; for SI (Fire) CISF, 18 to 30 years (as on 01-08-2026). Category-wise relaxations apply as per government rules: SC/ST - 5 years, OBC - 3 years, Ex-Servicemen - 3 years with specific conditions. Departmental candidates of Delhi Police have special age relaxations.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent for Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs.
- Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF: Bachelor’s degree in science with PCM or relevant diplomas in engineering disciplines as detailed.
- Valid LMV Driving License mandatory for male candidates for Delhi Police SI posts.

Selection Process
- Computer Based Examination (Paper-I and Paper-II)
- Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET)
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
- Document verification and final merit list preparation
How to Apply
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on SSC website https://ssc.gov.in.
- Submit the online application form via SSC website or ‘mySSC’ mobile app.
- Pay application fee online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Card payments.
- Make corrections in application during correction window (8-10 October 2026), paying required correction fees.
- Upload required photograph, signature and documents as per specifications.
