The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Young Scientists’ Laboratory for Smart Materials (DYSL-SM) located in Hyderabad is dedicated to developing smart material technology solutions for national defense. They invite Indian nationals for a walk-in interview on 06 October 2026 for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on smart materials-based robotic applications.

Age Limit
Maximum age limit is 28 years as of the application date. Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC candidates, as per government rules.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering with First Class and valid GATE score, OR
- M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics & Automation/Machine Design/Solid Mechanics with First Class and B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering with First Class.
- Desirable skills: knowledge of finite element packages, CAD, 3D printing, composite materials, basic electronics and instrumentation.

Pay Scale
Monthly fellowship ₹37,000 plus HRA and other allowances as per DRDO rules.
Selection Process
- Screening based on eligibility (GATE score, degree marks, desirability criteria, experience).
- Walk-in Interview.
- Formation of final merit panel valid for one year.

- Attend the walk-in interview on 06 October 2026 with complete documents and filled application form.
