The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya admit card is the hall ticket for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST), conducted by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) for admission to Class 6, and for the lateral entry tests for Class 9 and Class 11. It is downloaded from the official website, navodaya.gov.in, using the candidate's registration number and date of birth. For admission in 2027-28, the Class 6 test has been announced for Saturday, 28 November 2026, so the Class 6 admit card is expected in November 2026. Dates are as announced for the 2027-28 admission cycle. NVS can revise them, so confirm on navodaya.gov.in before the exam. In the previous cycle, the Class 6 admit card for the 13 December 2025 test was available by 18 November 2025, about three to four weeks before the exam.

How to download the JNV admit card

  1. Go to navodaya.gov.in.
  2. Open the Important News or announcements section on the homepage.
  3. Click the admit card link for your class (Class 6 JNVST, or Class 9 or 11 lateral entry).
  4. Enter the registration number from the application form and the student's date of birth, then the captcha.
  5. Download the admit card and print it on A4 paper. Keep at least two copies.

If you have lost the registration number, look for the confirmation page printed or emailed at the time of registration, or ask the school or centre where the form was filled.

What to check on the Navodaya admit card

  • Student's name, photograph and signature
  • Roll number and registration number
  • Exam date, reporting time and timing
  • Name and full address of the exam centre
  • Medium of the question paper chosen in the form
  • Instructions for the candidate

The exam centre cannot be changed after the admit card is issued. If any detail is wrong, contact the NVS helpdesk for JNVST (0120-2975754, listed on navodaya.gov.in) as early as possible, with the registration number ready.

JNVST Class 6 exam pattern

The Class 6 test is a pen-and-paper exam of 80 objective questions for 100 marks, lasting two hours, with no negative marking. Reports on the 2027 notification say the paper now has four sections of 20 questions each: Mental Ability, Environmental Studies (EVS), Arithmetic and Language. Earlier papers had three sections with 40 Mental Ability questions. Check the section-wise pattern in the official 2027 prospectus on navodaya.gov.in before you prepare.

Class 9 lateral entry exam pattern

The Class 9 test has 100 objective questions for 100 marks in two and a half hours: Mathematics (35), General Science (35), English (15) and Hindi (15). Answers are marked on an OMR sheet. The Class 11 test is based on the Class 10 syllabus; see the prospectus for its sections.

What to carry on exam day

  • The printed admit card
  • A blue or black ballpoint pen (pencils are not allowed for marking answers)
  • Any other document listed in the instructions on the admit card

For Class 6, students should be seated in the exam hall by 11:00 am for the 11:30 am start, so plan to reach the centre early.

After the exam: JNVST result

Results are published on navodaya.gov.in and are also sent to the district's JNV. For the 2026 cycle, the first-phase Class 6 result was declared on 17 March 2026. For JNVST 2027, the result is expected around the end of March 2027.

When will the Navodaya Class 6 admit card 2027 be released?

It is expected in November 2026, before the 28 November 2026 exam. NVS announces the release on navodaya.gov.in.

Can I download the Navodaya admit card without a registration number?

No. The login needs the registration number and date of birth. Find the number on the registration confirmation page.

Is there negative marking in JNVST?

No. There is no negative marking in the Class 6 selection test.
