Textile exports from Tamil Nadu rose from approximately USD 6,193 million in 2020-21 to nearly USD 8 billion in 2024-25. Its share now constitutes about 21.84% of the country’s total textile exports, marking it as the dominant contributor.
Comparison with Other States
Gujarat and Maharashtra are the next largest exporters with USD 5,646.01 million and USD 3,831.29 million respectively. Tamil Nadu’s lead is attributed to a coordinated industrial ecosystem and government initiatives.
