About Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026

Canara Bank, a reputed Public Sector Bank with over 10,000 branches across India, is recruiting 3500 Graduate Apprentices for the financial year 2026-27 under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This initiative provides hands-on training opportunities in bank operations for eligible graduates through apprenticeship contracts.

Location and Vacancies Distribution

Vacancies are available in all Indian states and union territories. Candidates can apply for training seats in only one state with preferences for districts within chosen states. The Bank may allot seats in any district of the selected state as per administrative needs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age: Minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years as on 01.09.2026.
    Relaxations apply up to 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), 10 years for PwBD, and up to 35/38/40 years for eligible women candidates.
  • Educational Qualification: Graduation (any discipline) from a recognized University.
    Please note, only candidates who passed graduation between 01.01.2023 and 01.09.2026 are eligible.
  • Local Language: Candidates must pass a local language test during document verification unless they have 10th or 12th standard certificates showing study of the opted local language.
  • Others: Candidates must not have undergone or be undergoing apprenticeship training previously and should not have work experience exceeding one year after graduation.

Reservation

Reservation of seats is as per Government guidelines for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), applied horizontally within the total vacancies per state.

Selection Process

  1. Apply online on Canara Bank's website (Careers > Recruitment section) after registering on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme Portal (https://nats.education.gov.in).
  2. Merit list prepared state-wise based on marks/percentage obtained in 12th standard (HSC/10+2) or Diploma with minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  3. Document verification including local language test and medical fitness.
  4. Final engagement on merit and fulfilling eligibility conditions.

Application Fees

  • General/EWS/OBC: ₹500 (non-refundable, inclusive of GST)
  • SC/ST/PwBD: Nil

How to Apply

  1. Complete 100% profile registration on NATS portal.
  2. Apply through Canara Bank online recruitment portal between 01.10.2026 and 17.10.2026 only.
  3. Upload scanned documents: recent passport-sized photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration as specified.
  4. Pay application fee online (where applicable).
  5. Keep registration details safe for all future correspondence.

Stipend and Training Details

Selected graduate apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹16,650 during the 12-month training. They will receive on-the-job training at selected bank branches and will not be considered employees of Canara Bank. The Bank is not obligated to offer permanent employment post training.
