Citizenship, reservation and disability provisions
Candidates must meet the notice's citizenship conditions: Indian citizens, plus certain Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugee and persons-of-Indian-origin categories, which need a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India. Claims for SC, ST, OBC, EWS or PwBD benefits need valid certificates, and the notice says a request to change category after applying will not be entertained.
Disability suitability and reservation differ by post and by disability type. Candidates with a benchmark disability (40% or more) should check the table for their post in the notice rather than assume a post is open to them.
How to apply (as described in the notice)
Applications were online only, through the UPSC online portal at https://upsconline.nic.in. The notice does not ask candidates to post printouts or documents to the Commission.
- Register on the portal to get a Universal Registration Number (URN) and complete the Common Application Form (CAF). The portal has four modules; the first three are common to all UPSC recruitments.
- Fill the fourth, post-specific module for the vacancy.
- Upload supporting documents as PDFs against each claim, such as date of birth, qualification, experience, category and age relaxation. The notice says pay slips, resumes, appointment letters, relieving letters and unsigned experience certificates must not be uploaded in the document module.
- Upload a photograph, capture a live photograph, and upload a signature written three times on plain white paper in black ink.
- Pay the fee online if you are not exempt, then print the finally submitted application.
The notice says submitted applications cannot be withdrawn or corrected, and that all correspondence will be by e-mail, so an active e-mail ID is essential.
Application fee
Candidates who are not exempt pay ₹25 by Visa, Master or Rupay card, UPI or internet banking. Women, SC, ST and PwBD candidates pay no fee. OBC, EWS and unreserved male candidates must pay it. Applications without the required fee are rejected, and fees are not refunded. A third-party list mentions cash payment at SBI, but this page follows the official notice, which gives only online modes.
Selection process
The notice describes selection by interview. If applications are numerous, UPSC may shortlist on desirable qualifications, higher qualifications or experience, or hold a recruitment test. The minimum interview suitability marks, out of 100, are UR 50, OBC 45 and SC/ST/PH 40. Shortlisted candidates must bring a printout of the online application and their documents to the interview. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview call.
What the supplied material does not cover
- The supplied portion of the notice ends partway through the concessions section, so later rules, including ex-servicemen and other age relaxations, are not summarised.
- No interview dates, results or later corrigenda for this advertisement appear in the material.
- Cut-offs, syllabus and exam pattern are not stated for these posts, so none are given.
