The Steel Authority of India Limited, Bhilai Steel Plant (SAIL BSP), is inviting applications for 710 apprentice positions for the recruitment year 2026-27. These openings include Trade Apprentices (ITI), Technician Apprentices (Diploma), and Graduate Apprentices across various disciplines. This apprenticeship offers industrial training but does not guarantee subsequent employment.

Available Apprentice Posts and Eligibility

The total vacancies are divided as follows: 516 Trade Apprentices, 124 Diploma Apprentices, and 70 Graduate Apprentices. Candidates must have completed their respective ITI, Diploma, or Degree qualification from a government-recognized institute or university between 2022 and 2026 as regular students. Apprentices with prior apprenticeship training or one year of work experience are not eligible.

  • Diploma & Graduate Apprentices: Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Computer Science, Metallurgy, Production, Nursing, Pharmacy, Arts, Science, Commerce, BCA, BBA, Physiotherapy, and more.

Application Process and Important Dates

This recruitment is conducted through a walk-in interview process. Candidates must first register online on the respective official portals before attending the interview at the specified venue and time.

Steps to Apply

  1. For ITI Trade Apprentices: Register on https://apprenticeshipindia.org/ and apply by searching "SAIL BHILAI STEEL PLANT".
  2. For Graduate/Diploma Apprentices: Register on https://nats.education.gov.in/ and apply by selecting Steel Authority of India Limited, Bhilai Steel Plant.
  3. Complete registration and application on the relevant portal by 20 October 2026.
  4. Attend the walk-in interview as per the scheduled dates at Room No 123, HRDC Bhilai Steel Plant, Chhattisgarh 490001, between 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
  5. Carry original and self-attested copies of required documents including educational certificates, Aadhaar Card, medical fitness certificate from a government doctor, caste certificate (if applicable), and bank passbook (DBT enabled).

Selection Procedure

  • Shortlisting based on academic merit: 30% weightage to Class 10 marks and 70% weightage to marks in ITI/Diploma/Degree.
  • Document verification during walk-in interview.
  • Medical fitness certificate required for final engagement.
  • Final selection communicated via email.

Additional Information

  • No accommodation or travel allowance is provided by BSP.
  • DBT-enabled bank account necessary for stipend payment.
  • Employment as a regular staff member is not guaranteed after apprenticeship.
  • Canvassing is strictly prohibited and leads to disqualification.
