Essential qualification: A graduate degree in any discipline.

Age Limit

The English text of the notice sets a maximum age of 35 years for Project Associate I and 50 years for Field Worker. It allows five years' relaxation for SC/ST candidates and women, and three years for OBC candidates.

Evidence conflict: The Hindi section of the same notice appears to give 35 years for the Field Worker as well. Check the age limit for this post against the official PDF, or with the Division, before travelling.

How to Attend and What to Carry

The notice names no online form, application portal or email address. Candidates are asked to appear in person at the interview with the following:

  1. The duly filled and signed application form, in the format annexed to the notice. It asks for personal details, education from 10th onwards, experience of one year or more, published research papers, a no-objection certificate from the present employer, and a truthfulness declaration.
  2. Original educational and other relevant documents.
  3. One set of self-attested photocopies.
  4. A recent photograph on the form. The notice also lists certificates from matriculation onwards, a date-of-birth certificate, a NET or equivalent certificate, a degree certificate (original or provisional), and proof of experience and publications.
  5. The signed relative declaration, which every candidate must submit, as described below.

Term 4 of the notice mentions scanned certificates attached to the application form. The notice does not say where or how they should be sent in advance, so do not assume an email submission route exists.

Rules That Can Affect Your Candidature

  • Only candidates with the essential qualifications will be entertained for the interview.
  • No TA/DA or other expenses are paid for attending.
  • A candidate with any near or distant relative employed at ICAR/IARI must declare the relative's name, designation, nature of duties and relationship in writing before the interview. The notice says such a candidate will not be allowed to appear. All other candidates must also submit the signed declaration in the annexed format.
  • Concealing facts or canvassing in any form can lead to disqualification or termination. False claims found later lead to rejection of candidature.
  • The selected candidate must produce all original documents and a medical certificate at joining.
  • Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of New Delhi courts only.

What the Notice Does Not Say

  • It states no application fee, and it does not say there is none.
  • It gives no application closing date. 27 October 2026 is the interview date, and candidates must present their papers that day.
  • It does not describe the selection method beyond the interview and document verification, such as marking or a written test.
  • It gives no email address or online link for submitting an application.
  • It does not say whether any reservation applies beyond calling the position unreserved.

Why Learners Should Read the Official PDF

For exam aspirants in genetics, plant breeding, biotechnology or agriculture, project posts like this can be a research stepping stone. They are time-bound, linked to funding, and different from posts filled through regular recruitment examinations. Read the full notice and annexure at the official PDF on iari.res.in before finalising your documents.
