How to apply

  1. Download the application format (Annexure IV-B) from www.mumbaiport.gov.in, under the 'People & Career / Jobs' menu.
  2. Fill in the details and declaration. Give the percentage of marks, converting any CGPA into a percentage using your university's method, and state your area(s) of interest.
  3. Attach self-attested copies of age and qualification documents. Government, semi-government, PSU or autonomous body employees must attach a No Objection Certificate.
  4. Put the form and documents in an envelope marked "Application for engagement Professional Interns purely on contract basis in Marine Department".
  5. Send it to: Deputy Conservator's Office, Mumbai Port Authority, Port Bhavan, 1st Floor, S.V. Marg, Ballard Estate, Mumbai 400 001. It must arrive by 21 October 2026.

Applicants who want more than one area must submit a separate application for each. A candidate can apply only once in a financial year. A bare CV, an incomplete form or missing documents may be rejected.

Selection process

MbPA will scrutinise and shortlist applications based on qualification, experience and the details given in the form. Shortlisted candidates may be called for a test or interview. Shortlisting does not give a right to engagement. Selected candidates must bring original mark sheets, a character certificate and a self-declaration at joining. They must also submit a relieving letter if currently employed, and engagement depends on medical fitness and police verification.

What the notice does not say

  • It mentions no application fee, and I cannot confirm whether one applies.
  • It gives no test syllabus, exam pattern, interview date or result date.
  • It does not say how to choose among the three areas beyond "clearly indicate your area(s) of interest".
  • Annexure numbering is inconsistent. The experience certificate is called Annexure III in the text but appears as Annexure I, and the Integrity Pact is headed Annexure III but referred to as Annexure II. Use the application form from the MbPA website and check the website for any corrections.

MbPA says any corrigendum or change will appear only on its website, under 'People & Career > Jobs'. Check it before posting your application.

Note on third-party job listings

The only other source supplied was a general "Fellow" listing page from a job aggregator with the link text "View Notification & Details". It does not mention this MbPA notice, so this article relies only on the MbPA advertisement.
