The UPSC listing places the IES and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) results under one exam heading, but each has its own PDF. This post covers only the IES PDF. The ISS file is a separate document and is not covered here.

How to check the IES written result

  1. Open the official IES result PDF from the link on this page. It is hosted on upsc.gov.in.
  2. Find the section headed Indian Economic Service.
  3. Look for your roll number in the printed list. The list contains roll numbers only, with no names or marks.

A roll number in the list means the candidate qualified for the Personality Test. The notice states that this candidature is provisional and depends on the candidate being found eligible in all respects.

What the notice asks qualified candidates to do

Update details on the UPSC online portal

The notice gives a window of 15 days after the declaration of the written result. All qualified candidates must log in to the portal named in the notice (upsconline.nic.in) during this window. They must update their details and educational qualification status (appearing or appeared) and upload proof of passing the required qualifying examination. The notice says candidates who fail to do this will not be allowed to take part in later stages, and the Commission will not entertain correspondence on the matter.

Candidates who uploaded everything earlier and have nothing to change must still log in and finally submit after verifying their details. This generates the e-summon letter for the interview. The notice also lists optional updates, such as addresses, higher qualifications, achievements, employment details, earlier service allocation, and the socio-economic questionnaire where applicable.

Because the notice ties the window to the date of declaration, check the portal and the UPSC website directly. The supplied evidence does not show whether any portal function is still open as of 6 October 2026.

Keep original documents ready

Candidates will have to produce original certificates for age, educational qualification, community (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) and benchmark disability, where applicable, at the Personality Test. The notice says that a candidate who does not bring the required originals will not be allowed to appear before the board, and no travel allowance will be paid.

Interview schedule, marks and help

  • Interview schedule: The notice says the schedule will be uploaded on the UPSC website in due course, and the exact date will be sent through the e-summon letter. The supplied evidence does not show whether a schedule has since been published.
  • Change of date: Requests to change the date and time of the Personality Test will ordinarily not be entertained.
  • Mark-sheets: They will be uploaded after the final result, which comes after the Personality Test, and will stay on the website for 30 days. Candidates access them with roll number and date of birth. Printed copies are issued on a specific request with a self-addressed stamped envelope, made within 30 days of the marks being displayed.
  • Queries: The notice gives the UPSC Call Centre numbers 011-40303444 and 24041001, open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Limits of this evidence

  • The notice does not state cut-off marks or the total number of qualified candidates, and this post does not estimate them.
  • The evidence does not include a final result or interview dates, so nothing about those is stated here.
  • A past release date does not show that the PDF or portal functions are open today. Rely on the official UPSC pages for current status.
