UPSC Photo & Signature Requirements: CSE Image Guide

Editorial hold — not for publication. The CSE 2026 notice verifies the current photograph and signature process, but the linked portal’s complete upload limits could not be retrieved. Do not fill the missing limits with older OTR rules.

More options
Proportions are always kept.

Leave this unchecked to let large images fit the KB limit automatically. Entering a width or height locks your chosen dimensions.

Leave the minimum at 0 unless your form requires one. JPG gives transparent areas a white background. PNG keeps transparency and may need smaller dimensions. 1 KB = 1,024 bytes.

What is verified for CSE 2026

The revised Civil Services 2026 notice, PDF page 2, requires both an uploaded photograph and live photograph capture in the Common Application Form. It also directs applicants to sign three times, one below the other, in black ink on plain white paper and upload the legible result.

Requirements still to verify

Retrieve the current portal’s “Instructions and FAQs → Instruction for filling the form → Photos and Signature” instructions. Record permitted formats, byte ranges, pixel constraints and any amendment. Keep photo and signature presets disabled until this is complete.

Proposed preparation instructions

Once the limits are verified, explain how to crop the complete three-signature image without cutting off a signature, retain the proportions and preview the downloaded file. Explain the uploaded-photo and live-capture steps separately. The checker cannot certify identity, legibility, DPI or acceptance.
