The Delhi government released the draft Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy for 2026-2030, aiming to accelerate adoption of clean mobility and reduce air pollution. Key proposals include 100% exemption of road tax and registration fees for electric cars priced up to ₹30 lakh until March 31, 2030. Strong hybrid vehicles qualify for a 50% exemption. From January 1, 2027, only electric three-wheelers will be allowed for new registration in Delhi to curb pollution. The policy builds upon the 2020 EV policy, enhancing incentives and focusing on sustainable urban transport aligned with India’s clean energy goals.
Discovery of 200 Ancient Sites in Greece Reveals 6000 Years of Continuous History
An extensive archaeological survey covering 30 square kilometers in the Eretrian plain of Evia, Greece, revealed over 200 ancient sites spanning nearly 6,000 years of human activity. Utilizing LiDAR technology, researchers uncovered a landscape of farms, quarries, settlements, and medieval roads that illustrate a complex agrarian economy supported by rural administrative units called demes. The findings provide significant insights into the socio-economic organization and continuous habitation of this region under various historical periods including Mycenaean, Roman, and Ottoman eras, emphasizing the area's historical and cultural importance.
