From June 1, 2026, Malaysia prohibits children below 16 years from registering or maintaining accounts on major social media platforms with at least 8 million Malaysian users, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Non-compliance with these rules can result in fines up to 10 million Malaysian ringgit (~2.5 million USD).
