On 24 July 2026, SpaceX launched its Starship Flight 13 from Starbase, Texas, marking the 13th test mission of the fully reusable Starship vehicle. The upper stage deployed 20 upgraded Starlink V3 satellites into suborbital space and conducted an in-space Raptor engine relight test. The Starship upper stage completed a soft splashdown intact in the Indian Ocean, transmitting telemetry data, while the Super Heavy booster experienced fewer engines ignited than planned during the landing burn, resulting in a hard splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico. This mission tested hardware and software upgrades introduced after Flight 12, advancing next-generation satellite internet technology with higher bandwidth and speed.
