  1. Malvi Camel Faces Extinction Threat in India

  4. INSAT-3DR: India's Crucial Meteorological Satellite for Weather Forecasting and Disaster Management

    INSAT-3DR, launched on 8 September 2016 via GSLV-F05, is a vital Indian geostationary meteorological satellite. Equipped with a 6-channel imaging payload and a 19-channel atmospheric sounder, it provides half-hourly real-time multispectral data for weather forecasting, cyclone tracking, monsoon analysis, and disaster management over India and adjoining regions. Since September 2020, after the INSAT-3D atmospheric sounder ended service, INSAT-3DR has been the primary source of hourly atmospheric sounding data for the INSAT-3 system. The satellite also carries a Search and Rescue Transponder, aiding in rescue operations. Its capabilities include measuring ocean surface temperatures and cloud characteristics, supporting the India Meteorological Department and other operational users.

  5. Great Indian Bustard Chicks Enter Rewilding Tunnel in Rajasthan

    On 26 July 2026, three one-month-old chicks of the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard were released into a specially designed rewilding tunnel at the Godawan Conservation Centre in Ramdevra, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.   10. Madurai Marks 107th Birthday of a Historic Banyan Tree

    On 27 July 2026, Madurai in Tamil Nadu celebrated the 107th birthday of a significant banyan tree located in the Meenakshipuram area near the Sellur tank.   11. Gujarat Launches Cyber Financial Fraud e-Zero FIR System

    On 27 July 2026, Gujarat launched the Cyber Financial Fraud e-Zero FIR system in Gandhinagar to enable victims of cyber financial fraud to conveniently lodge complaints via the national cybercrime helpline number 1930.     On 25 July 2026, Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh, India, was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site during the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held in Busan, South Korea.
