Background & Context
Small outpatient clinics and primary healthcare facilities in India face challenges implementing existing hospital management systems due to high costs and complexity. Many rely on manual processes, limiting efficient healthcare delivery. The Government of India, through the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the National Health Authority, collaborated with C-DAC to develop e-Sushrut@Clinic as a lightweight, affordable, and user-friendly digital solution. The platform is designed to facilitate the digitization of health services at the primary care level and support the objectives of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) towards seamless, patient-centered healthcare.
Why This Matters for Exams / Exam Relevance
The launch of e-Sushrut@Clinic marks a significant advancement in India's digital health infrastructure, representing government intervention to support affordable digital adoption in smaller healthcare settings. Key points for exams include the system’s development by C-DAC, launch date and location, features such as speech-to-text and clinical decision support, integration with national health registries (HPR & HFR), cost structure with subsidies, and the role of the National Health Authority (NHA).
