Sugam Digital Gujarat Initiative
The initiative, led by the Department of Science & Technology, promotes faceless, paperless, and cashless public service delivery, reducing physical interaction and simplifying procedures.
Scope of Digitised Services
Services from Social Justice and Empowerment, Revenue, Legal, Food & Civil Supplies, and Tribal Development departments like caste and income certificates, ration card services, and revenue documents are digitised.
Technology Integration and Features
The platform uses Aadhaar-based authentication, DigiLocker linkage, eSign, UPI payments, and issues QR-coded certificates. Some services can be accessed via WhatsApp, and data reuse simplifies applications.
Impact and Future Plans
Handling over 1.2 crore annual applications, the reforms reduce processing time, improve tracking/reliability, and plan growth including Gujarati AI models and deeper integration.
