JEE Main Photo & Signature Size: Requirements and Checker

JEE Main 2026 requires an uploaded photograph and signature, with a separate live photograph step. Use the correct document preset above to prepare a file; resizing an existing photograph does not complete live capture.

Set by your selected exam requirements. If needed, we’ll reduce dimensions to fit. Nothing is cropped.

More options
Proportions are always kept.

Leave this unchecked to let large images fit the KB limit automatically. Entering a width or height locks your chosen dimensions.

Leave the minimum at 0 unless your form requires one. JPG gives transparent areas a white background. PNG keeps transparency and may need smaller dimensions. 1 KB = 1,024 bytes.

JEE Main photo and signature file limits

The official JEE Main 2026 information bulletin specifies JPG/JPEG images between 10 and 200 KB for the uploaded photograph and between 10 and 100 KB for the signature. The upload instructions appear on PDF page 10.

The checker shows your image’s pixel dimensions, but it does not invent an exact pixel size where the verified instruction supplies no such constraint. Follow the bulletin’s appearance requirements as well as its file limits.

Resize a photo without stretching the face

Start with the clearest original you have. Choose Photograph and check its current format and size. Adjust the crop with the numeric controls, leaving the required face area inside the red outline. Set the output width; height follows the crop’s aspect ratio automatically.

If the face looks too narrow or too wide in a previous edit, return to the original. A byte-size check cannot detect or repair distortion. This tool preserves the selected crop’s proportions and does not replace the background.

Prepare the signature separately

Switch the document selector to Signature before choosing that image. Crop unused paper while keeping every stroke visible. Select Prepare download and inspect the result at normal viewing size. A signature that looks acceptable when enlarged may become difficult to read after excessive shrinking.

If compression cannot fit the selected range at the current dimensions, the tool explains the failure. Adjust the output width gradually or use a clearer original. Do not repeatedly send a tiny, blurred export through the compressor.

Live photo capture and identity proof

Complete live capture in the official JEE application portal. The identity-proof image preset applies only to the verification route described by the bulletin, with its own 10–200 KB JPG/JPEG requirement. Check whether that route applies to you before preparing a file.

PDF certificates are separate documents. This tool does not change their format or compress them. Selecting an identity image preset is not a substitute for reading the document name beside the official upload control.

Final checks before submission

  • Confirm the cycle shown in the tool matches the instructions you are following. Do not assume a later cycle retains the 2026 specifications.
  • Preview the downloaded photo and signature and check their actual byte sizes.
  • Verify that each image appears in the correct field in the official application.
  • Review the live photograph separately from the uploaded photograph.

Technical checks cannot confirm identity, visual quality or acceptance. Use the shared photo and signature resizer for another examination or a custom size.
