RRB NTPC Signature Size & Live Photo: Requirements and Checker
RRB NTPC photograph and signature instructions must be checked against the exact Centralised Employment Notice (CEN). This guide’s enabled signature preset covers CEN 07/2025, Undergraduate. The Graduate CEN 06/2025 option is shown separately and its signature preset remains unavailable until its source check is complete.

Undergraduate signature requirements
The official CEN 07/2025 application FAQs specify a JPG/JPEG signature between 30 and 49 KB, with minimum dimensions of 140 pixels wide and 60 pixels high. They also specify a scan resolution of at least 100 DPI, black ink on white paper and running handwriting.
The minimum pixel dimensions are not a command to make every signature exactly 140 × 60. Reducing a clear scan to that small size unnecessarily can make it harder to read. The checker enforces the minimum and byte range while keeping your chosen crop’s proportions.
Crop without cutting off the signature
Choose the Undergraduate cycle and Signature document above. Check the original first. If it is PNG, has large empty borders or exceeds the byte limit, prepare a JPEG from the original rather than repeatedly recompressing an already damaged version.
- Rotate the image until the writing is upright.
- Move the crop’s left and top coordinates and set its width and height so every stroke remains inside the red outline.
- Choose an output width that preserves enough detail. The calculated height must also stay above the minimum.
- Prepare the download and inspect the exported image. Check that the first and last strokes have not been clipped.
The FAQ describes centring the image in the form’s scan box. That placement and the scanner’s DPI setting require your own review; the browser tool does not certify them.
RRB live photograph capture
For CEN 07/2025, the FAQ describes live capture in the application module and says not to photograph an existing printed or digital photo. Use the camera process in the official form. A photo resizer cannot complete that step for you.
Why another railway preset may be wrong
“Railway signature size” can refer to different recruitment notices. A tool or saved image labelled only “RRB” is not evidence that it meets your application’s requirements. Match the CEN number before applying a byte limit. Do not transfer this Undergraduate preset to the Graduate cycle or Group D without checking their own instructions.
If your upload is rejected
Separate a technical error from a visual problem. Wrong format, excessive bytes and insufficient pixels need different changes. If the file passes the measured checks but the writing is faint or broken, return to the original scan. After uploading to the official portal, inspect its preview and verify the document field before submitting.
For the examination stage rather than image preparation, see the RRB NTPC typing-test guide. The shared compressor also lists other examination presets and their verification status.
